                  Geography

DeLeon is in the northwest central area of Texas.  It is located in Comanche County.  It is 107 miles West Southwest of Fort Worth, 150 miles North Northwest of Austin and 85 miles East Southeast of Abilene.  The town sets on the intersection of Hwy 6 and Hwy 16 and about 20 miles from the nearest point of I-20.

                  Population

With a population of 2433, DeLeon is a culturally diverse community.  Our median age is 8 years older than the national average of 36 years.  We have exactly half married and half single households and 60% of our households have children.  

 

                  Environment
We are dominant in the agriculture industry, which includes: dairy, cattle, swine, peanuts, hay, pecans, and as well as fruit.  DeLeon is the marketing center for peanuts and pecans.  The average rainfall in Comanche County is 30.4 inches.  The average temperature in January is 30°, and the average temperature in July is 95°.
